17.14. Brake drums To check up

After dismantle it is necessary to clear and examine carefully brake drums on presence of cracks, scratches, deep flutes, and also to check up deviations from крутости (ovality) and цилиндричности (конусность).


The brake drum with cracks is subject to replacement as does not provide safely сти the car. It is forbidden to make cracks on a drum. Small scratches and risks should be smoothed. In the presence of deep defects of a surface of a friction of a drum service life pads strongly reduces ся. In this case it is required to pierce a working surface of a drum.
